The first meeting of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation
(NICO), for Year 2010, comes up on Thursday, March 4, 2010, in the Boardroom of NICO Headquarters, 23 Kigoma St, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja, FCT.
NICO News investigations revealed that proposals to execute various developmental programmes of the Institute will be top on the agenda of the meeting.
The Governing Board, under the chairmanship of Amb. Ibrahim G. Abubakar, is also expected to get feedbacks on the job performance of contractors handling various projects at the permanent site of the Institute at Kuje.
This is expected to be the second Board Meeting the Executive Secretary of NICO, Dr. Barclays Ayakoroma, will be convening since assuming office in November 2009.
The Governing Board is expected to meet at least four times in the year, statutorily.
Meanwhile, a Management Meeting of the Institute is scheduled for Friday, March 5, 2010. It is also taking place in the Boardroom of NICO Headquarters, 23 Kigoma St, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja, FCT.
The meeting, which is to be attended by all heads of NICO zonal offices, will be the first of its kind, and is expected to give management the opportunity to review the initial hiccups in the implementation of the geo-political zonal structure of the Institute.
The meeting will also review preliminary arrangements for the forthcoming workshop: “Promoting Nigerian Dress Culture for National Identity,” which is taking place from April 7-9, 2010, at the Cyprian Ekwensi Cultural Centre, Garki-Abuja.
