NICO PG Students Present Papers At Seminar On Cultural Diplomacy

Post Graduate Diploma Students of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) Training School, Abuja Study Centre on Thursday, October 11, 2018 presented academic papers on Cultural Diplomacy in Nigeria.

At the one-day seminar which took place at the Institute’s head office, No. 23, Kigoma Street, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja-FCT, the PG students showcased how cultural diplomacy can be used as a soft power for the promotion of culture and interactions between nations.

In his remark, the Acting Executive Secretary of NICO, Mr. Louis Eriomala who admonished the students on the need to speak to their papers, emphasized that the seminar was organized to give them the opportunity to share their knowledge in the area of cultural diplomacy. He further promised that as a means of motivation, the Management will ensure that the best paper presentation is published amongst the Institute’s numerous publications.

According to the course lecturer, Mrs. Jane Anigala, who is a Deputy Director with the Institute, while encouraging the student’s to be bold and speak to their papers maintained that the seminar was conducted to expose students to public speaking and as well build confidence in them.

On her part, the Coordinator of Abuja Study Centre of the Training School, Dr. Regina Onuoha encouraged the students to stay focused, composed, and speak to their topics, saying the criteria for their assessment will be based on appearance, presentation, composure and substance.

The seminar had thirty (30) students presented their papers on cultural diplomacy.

Present among the panellists who assessed the students papers were, Mr Law Ezeh (Deputy Director/SA-Ag.ES); Mrs Franca Okoro (Assistant Director) and Mrs Chinasa Eze (Chief Admin Officer)
